THE BARZ FIELD GUIDE / WINDOWS
Set up Barz in FL Studio, find a beat and get ready to record. Follow the steps once. Come back whenever you need a hand.
Start the setupWindows demo session · Earlier captures show Barz 0.13; account controls may differ in newer builds.
Start with the Windows installer supplied with Barz.
Barz keeps the StreamCrate.vst3 filename so existing projects still open. Older channel names may say StreamCrate. Rescan with Verify plugins to refresh the displayed plugin name.
You can open the Barz window from its Channel Rack entry.
Register, pay and manage your membership without leaving the VST.
Barz account manages your membership. The browser’s Account button signs in to YouTube, SoundCloud or BeatStars. A music-site login does not activate Barz.
The beat browser is unlocked. Your account must have a valid trial, subscription or purchased access.
Your familiar beat sources, inside the plugin window.
Choose YouTube, SoundCloud or BeatStars along the top. Search the actual site, then click a beat’s title or artwork. Already have a URL? Use Paste link.
Wait for the beat to load and the waveform to appear beneath it. BeatStars supplies the producer’s preview; use your licensed download for the purchased original.
Source tabs at the top. Your selected beat and waveform at the bottom. FL supplies the playback controls.
A loaded waveform appears in Barz. Keep browsing while the Playlist is prepared.
On Windows, Barz creates and links the first Playlist WAV automatically.
A real WAV Audio Clip starts at the beginning of a new Playlist lane.
The status below Barz’s waveform confirms that future selections will update this clip.
The beat’s Audio Clip channel routes here. Keep this insert for the beat.
The Playlist at the top holds the WAV. Barz stays open below it, with PLAYLIST LINKED confirming the connection.
Barz sets FL’s tempo when a new beat loads. Values can come from producer notes or audio analysis. Click BPM to confirm or correct it; uncertain key or tempo estimates need checking.
Select another beat and wait for it to finish loading. The linked WAV updates and running SONG playback returns to the start. Stopped playback stays stopped, and Barz stays open.
If the beat is already loaded but no clip exists, use Add to Playlist once. If you see timing notes instead of a waveform, choose File → WAV Audio Clips (real waveform). Reopen Barz from the Channel Rack; double-clicking the WAV opens FL’s Audio Clip settings.
Use FL’s transport for the beat and keep your words beside it.
Starts and stops the Playlist. PAT mode plays patterns, not Playlist WAVs.
Click Lyrics at the top of Barz. Write beside the browser, or choose Expand for a larger view. A− / A+ changes the text size.
Click Read before your take: Space now controls FL. Click Write to edit again. While typing lyrics or a search, Space stays a normal space.
Read mode protects your lyrics while Space controls FL. Split brings the browser back beside your words.
Loop repeats the linked WAV’s range in SONG mode, including other tracks in that range. Shuffle chooses from locally saved beats in your open collection or Favourites; save at least two first. Shuffle pauses beat changes while FL is recording.
Your beat plays through FL, your mic records to a separate track, and your lyrics stay in view.
Finish with a project you can come back to.
If you choose another beat, use Keep again before your next save. Online account checks still apply.
Drag the loaded waveform from Barz into Edison, a sampler that accepts WAV files, or an empty Playlist lane. These extra drops are fixed copies; the linked clip continues to follow new selections.
Confirm the BPM before dragging to include it in WAV tempo metadata. If you correct the BPM later, drag a fresh copy.
Include the WAV files referenced by your Playlist and independent clips using FL’s project/media collection workflow. Keep with project embeds Barz’s current source; it does not gather every audio file in the arrangement.
Use Save favourite to return to a beat later. Use Add to playlist for personal collections that mix sources. In Playlists, choose Save playlist link to bookmark an online playlist. These collections are saved on this computer.
Buy this beat opens the producer’s listed BeatStars page. If only an email is available, it copies that address. Obtain the producer’s licence before releasing your recording; saving a WAV does not grant release rights.
Save the FL project after keeping your beat and writing your lyrics.
BACK TO THE SESSION
Start here. The Help button inside Barz also works while your session is open.
Close FL and rerun the installer if setup did not finish. Reopen Options → Manage plugins, enable Verify plugins and run Find installed plugins. Look for Barz or the older StreamCrate name. Keep the VST3 bundle and its background tools in the installer’s location.
Check your internet connection and website account status. Confirm your email and finish card registration, then click Connect this VST. Older versions can still use a code from your website account through Manual activation. A YouTube or BeatStars sign-in is separate from your Barz membership.
Wait for the WAV to finish loading, check that it appears in the Playlist, select SONG and press Play in FL. Make sure the clip and Mixer Insert 1 are not muted. In WAV mode the Audio Clip supplies the sound; the Barz instrument itself is silent.
Click outside a search or text field. In the lyrics pad, choose Read (or press Esc while writing) to return Space to FL playback. You can always use FL’s transport directly.
Check File → Create and update Playlist WAV automatically. If you moved, scrolled, zoomed or resized the Playlist, choose Relink Playlist clip, double-click near the start of the intended WAV, then reopen Barz from the Channel Rack. Keep the generated Audio Clip name while auditioning. Separate waveform drops stay on their original beat.
Try Reload and another public beat. For BeatStars, open the beat’s detail page and select its preview. Music-site sign-in does not automatically sign the background loader in. Use File → Open an audio file for an original downloaded through the provider. Help → Error details can identify missing media tools.
These screenshots and automatic Playlist steps cover FL Studio 2026 on Windows. Mac builds and other DAW workflows require separate validation. Do not assume automatic Playlist replacement, tempo changes or mixer routing are available in another host.
Use the contact button in the bottom corner. Include your Barz version, FL version, operating system and the step that stopped working. Review screenshots and diagnostics for personal information before sharing.
