BROWSE BEATS INSIDE YOUR SESSION
A web browser VST
for FL Studio.
Barz brings YouTube, SoundCloud and BeatStars into a Windows VST3 plugin. Find a beat in the real website, load its audio into FL’s Playlist and keep your lyrics beside the session.
It is built around auditioning beats and recording a song in FL Studio. Your selected beat becomes a linked WAV Audio Clip, routed to Mixer Insert 1. FL handles playback; Barz holds the browser, favourites, playlists and lyrics.
From the web browser to a Playlist WAV
- Open Barz in FL Studio. Install the Windows VST3 and follow the setup assistant to connect your account and check playback.
- Choose a source. Search YouTube, SoundCloud or BeatStars in the plugin, or paste a supported beat link.
- Load a beat. Wait for the waveform and Playlist link. Use FL’s Song mode to hear the arrangement. Check the detected tempo and key before recording.
- Audition the next idea. Selecting another beat updates the linked source. Save favourites or a playlist to return to the ones you like.
- Keep the audio with your song. Use Keep with project and save the FL project. Drag the waveform to create a separate Playlist or sampler copy when you want to preserve a particular beat.
General webpage audio Beta
Available in Barz 0.17.1 for Windows. Open the plugin’s Web Beta tab, choose Paste link and enter a public HTTPS webpage. Click its MP3 play button to load the audio into the existing WAV and Playlist workflow. You can also click an MP3 link on the page or paste a direct MP3 address.
This first beta supports exposed HTTPS URLs ending in .mp3, including query parameters. A visible play button alone does not guarantee support. Blob players, protected audio, segmented streams, extensionless audio addresses and players inside inaccessible cross-origin frames are unsupported. Website login cookies are not transferred to the decoder.
Wait for the waveform and check the linked clip in FL’s Song mode. Enable Protect take before recording. See the updated setup guide for beta troubleshooting, or download the installer and guide together.
The beta test player below uses a generated three-second tone, with no music or third-party recording. Open this page inside Web Beta and lower your monitoring volume before trying it.
Browsing beats or sampling web audio?
A browser plugin can serve several different jobs. If you want a full beat in the Playlist while you write and record, Barz is designed for that workflow. Its source support centres on YouTube, SoundCloud and BeatStars.
If you want to record arbitrary website audio, collect short samples or use an AU or standalone application, compare tools built for those requirements. Barz does not advertise a general recorder for every website. The Barz and WebSampler comparison explains their published features and compatibility.
Windows VST3, with FL Studio playback
The current release is for 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and FL Studio with VST3 support. A tested Mac installer, AU edition and standalone edition are not available. See the installation guide for plugin scanning, Windows prompts and account connection.
Start a 30-day trial without a card: create an account, confirm your email and verify an eligible mobile number. After the trial, lifetime access costs $10 USD once, for as long as we operate Barz. See pricing and start your trial.
Questions before your first session
Is this FL Studio’s built-in Browser?
FL’s Browser lists local files, plugins and project content. Barz is an additional VST3 plugin that opens supported music websites inside the session. You still use FL’s own Playlist and Mixer.
Can I add effects to the beat?
The loaded Audio Clip routes to Mixer Insert 1, where you can use FL’s normal effects slots. Put your microphone on a separate insert. The vocal-recording guide explains that arrangement.
What if I delete or move the linked clip?
Stop playback and follow Repair beat link in Barz. Recovery depends on FL’s clip picker and confirmation state; the Playlist guide covers automatic restoration and the manual fallback.
Does a loaded beat include a release licence?
You need the producer’s permission or an appropriate licence before releasing music. Barz’s purchase covers the tool. It does not grant rights to beats from other sites.
Continue with the YouTube VST workflow or SoundCloud and BeatStars setup.
